Yuli Salas’ husband Hermilio reportedly had an affair with a teacher named Araceli Garcia. According to media reports, Salas sought out someone who would kill Garcia for money; a local veterinarian, Marco Antonio R., was her supposed contact, and Garcia was shot to death.  At some point, Hermilio returned to Salas and she appears to have planned to use a false claim of pregnancy to tie him to her.

Using the alias ‘Ana Paola Covarrubias’, she contacted young pregnant women through social media, offering to provide them with free baby clothes.  Segura Temich took her up on the offer, and met Salas outside a train station. 

Salas instead took Segura Temich to a vet’s clinic, where she was restrained and a caesarean section was carried out; she bled to death and her corpse was left in a field. 

The suspect took the newborn to the local clinic and said she had just given birth.; she was given a birth certificate without being examined. Salas posted images of Segura Temich’s infant on social media, claiming as her own child. 

During the investigation, police searched a veterinary clinic, found firearms, ammunition, drugs and an incubator, and the owner was arrested.  

Salas and the vet were also accused of the murder of Aracelia Garcia in 2019.  

A 2nd Male was  arrested and accused of assisting Marco Antonio then disposing of the victim’s body on a farm.  The physician who provided the birth certificate, Vicente Gomez Gaytan was given a suspended sentence.
