Olguin Lucas was acquainted with Corona Duran, because she was married to Garcia Rangel, the father of Corona Duran’s baby.   Its is unclear when the couple decided to kill Corona Duran to steal her fetus, but at some point, they invited the young woman to their home for that purpose. 

In order to make it more difficult for the victim to be identified, Olguin Lucas and Garcia Rangel dismembered and decapitated Corona Duran’s corpse after they removed her fetus. Her body parts were 

Olguin Lucas and her partner brought the child to the local clinic and lied about his age, which made the medical staff suspicious, and they contacted the authorities.   Olguin Lucas confessed under questioning. 

When the charges were read in court, Olguin Lucas was chastised for appearing to sleep.
