Luzmilla Fierra’s boyfriend left her but Fierra believed she knew a way to convince him to return; she would tell him that he was the father of her newborn.

Fierra saw 8-month pregnant Solangela Cartagena at an obstetrics clinic.

Cartagena woke up in a ditch to the sounds of screams of one of her daughters. She was bleeding from wounds to her abdomen and her toddler told her that a woman had taken her baby and left.  Cartagena  had been drugged with a local plant called “burundanga” which Fierra reportedly put into Cartagena’s water.

Fierra took the newborn to the home of her ex-boyfriend’s mother, telling the woman that he was her new grandson.  However, news of Cartagena’s experience had spread through the area and neighbors noted that Fierra had never appeared pregnant. During the investigation, police found a bloody towel at Fierra’s home, and Fierra was not able to present a birth certificate.

Fierra maintained that Cartagena asked her to perform a caesarean section on her and take her unwanted infant, claiming that Cartagena’s husband did not want any more children. Notably, when discussing the event, Fierra repeatedly referred to the infant boy as ‘it’.

According to available information, Fierra was diagnosed with a Personality disorder and lacked remorse.
